Superman Begins

What's the first rule of Fight Club...errr...I mean Photoshop?  Open the manual, rip out all of the pages and line the bottom of the birdcage with them.  Then open Photoshop and start clicking ALL the buttons as fast as you can!  Obviously, there is no way to learn a new program unless you play with it, so I did.

My brother, Dave, is the Superman buff, and he's also the one that graciously gave me this new program.  Sooo......Superman had to be the first image I needed to play with.  So what did I learn? 

Gradients are fun to play with, but I haven't a clue how I got that pattern to appear, but I liked it.  Duplicating layers is cool, but gets boring after 6.  Free Transform is great as long as you don't sneeze, cough or fart while holding the mouse button down!
